Make sure to close your Minecraft client before installing Optifine
Visit the official Optifine website HERE
Download the latest version of optifine for the same version that the server is currently running on (See server status page for the version number)
Execute the file and follow the steps. For most windows users you don’t need to change any settings, unless you manually changed the normal Minecraft folder when you installed it.
Start your Minecraft client again, it should now display OPTIFINE MINECRAFT in the bottom.
